Kristene Mulvaney

Kristene Lee Mulvaney (48) of Long Beach, MS lost a yearlong battle with cancer and passed away Friday September 2nd surrounded by her family.

Born April 24, 1974, in Heidelberg, Germany, Kristene graduated from Dallas City High School in Dallas City, IL in 1992 and joined with Army Reserves. She went on to complete her nursing degree and started her career at Gulfport Memorial Hospital 27 years ago. She loved her job and her work family and will be remembered for her willingness to help others, tenacious drive and infectious smile.

She married Michael Mulvaney May 22, 1999, and was the proud mother of three boys.  She was a fierce protector of her family and loved them beyond measure.  Kristene enjoyed bowling, running, and coaching youth sports. She was also a talented drummer. Kristene also loved animals and frequently donated to the Fetch Dog Park of Long Beach and the Humane Society.

She is survived by her parents Robert L. Dunn, Sr. and Kathryn A. Hood; her husband Michael L. Mulvaney; children Zachary King, Matthew Mulvaney and Ayden Mulvaney; siblings Danyl (Christopher) Butler, Robert Dunn, Jr. (Jessica Dunn) and Timothy (Jennifer) Dunn.  She also leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews and her beloved fur babies (Hailey and Alistair).

The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach beginning at 6:00pm until the funeral service at 7:00pm.
