Kit Riemann Steinwinder, age 82, of Gulfport, died Monday, February 22, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Steinwinder received a BS degree from MSCW and a Masters Degree from Columbia University in New York City. She was on the faculty of Gulfport High School and was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she founded the church nursery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.T. and Ruth Riemann, two brothers, Dr. E.T. """"Ted"""" Riemann, Jr. and Robert M. """"Bob"""" Riemann, and a sister, Gloria Riemann.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Joe Steinwinder, Gulfport, two children, Gloria Bourgeois and her husband David, Brentwood, TN, and Joe Steinwinder, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Ellisville, MS, grandsons, Thomas Steinwinder and his wife Hillary, David Steinwinder, Jeff and Neal Steinwinder, Austin Bourgeois and his wife, Emily, and Taylor Bourgeois and his wife, Aaron, one great-grandson, Hunt, and her three sisters-in-law, Doris Riemann, Frances Riemann, and Sarah Brooks.
The funeral service will be at 11 am Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lawson Ave., Gulfport. Friends may visit from 10 am until service time.
Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
