Kevin Neal Eleuterius, age 63, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, after a 5 month courageous battle with brain lymphoma. He was born on December 7, 1957 in Biloxi to Lemuel “Cooksie” and Mary Eleuterius.
Kevin worked for Mississippi Power Company for 43 years. Prior to his time at the Power Company, he worked with his uncle, Jack Eleuterius, building houses where he developed a love for carpentry. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a good friend to those who knew him. He lived life to the fullest. As a young boy growing up on Oak Street on “The Point,” he loved to fish. There were many trips with aunts, uncles, and family friends. His favorite place to fish was always Hopedale, LA, and he shared many good times with his family and friends there. If you liked to fish and were willing to go, you would not miss an opportunity to go fishing with “Kev”. He was a huge LSU and Saints fan and enjoyed watching them play football on the weekends. More than anything, he deeply loved spending time with his grandchildren. After his retirement, he spent his days at Plantation Harbor RV Resort in Elberta, AL. While in Elberta, he enjoyed his love of carpentry and helping neighbors and friends. Kevin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Milfred and Ella Mae McLendon; and his Uncle Robert Cameron.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Dixie Eleuterius; daughters, Janell Farrar (John), and Jamie Jenner (Mikey); four grandchildren, Brooke, Wesley, Brayden and Saylor; his brother, Orin Eleuterius (Sherry); his sister, Pam Rosetti (Nicky); brother-in law, Snip McLendon (Marsha); nephews, Orin Jr. (Amanda), Jonathan (Aimee), and Timmy (Paige); nieces, Bonnie (Jeremy) and Nicole; Jonathan and Timmy’s mother, Teri Suarez; and numerous relatives and very dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Allison Wall for her care and concern with Kevin over the past 5 months, and to the staff at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport and Canon Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church on Lamuese St., Biloxi, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with friends visiting from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Wilkerson Cemetery in LaRue, MS.
