Kerry L. Carter, age 59, of DeLisle passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2007. After a long battle with a terminal illness, Mr. Carter lost his battle for life, as he died peacefully in his home in DeLisle with his wife and daughters by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents Loye and Mattie Carter; his brother, Harvey Carter.
Survivors include his loving wife who never left his side, Dawn E. Carter; four children from a previous marriage, Kerry Carter, Jr. of Lizana, Phyllis (Bryan) Phillips of Saucier, Bridgett (Bill) Carroll of Pass Christian, Shannon (Gary) Stephenson of Pass Christian; two step-children, Brittany (Chris) Smith of Saucier and Clifton Rolison of Saucier; nine grandchildren, Seth and Dillon Stephenson, Lorren & Libby Carter, Brooke and Blake Carroll, Chase and Airanna Phillips, and Garrett Smith; two sisters, Brenda (Wayne) Melton of Gulfport and Bonnie Kay Ladner of Pass Christian; one brother, Colbert Carter of Tupelo; his mother-n -law, Florence Brown of DeLisle; his special pet """"Bug"""" the Blue Heeler.
Special thanks to Trinity Hospice for all the care and support. All who knew Kerry will miss his funny and outspoken ways. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Kerry was a mason and Shriner clown. Special thanks to everyone who supported his wife and daughters through this painful ordeal.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2007, from 6 - 9 pm at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Road. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, October 12, 2007 in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
