Kernis """"Buddy"""" Wayne Skinner, Sr., age 71 and a resident of Biloxi, died on Thursday, October 16, 2008, in Biloxi.
Mr. Skinner was a native and lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast and served in the United States Navy for six years. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a pipe insulator after 38 years of service.
Mr. Skinner is preceded in death by his parents, John W. & Christine Phillips Skinner; two sisters, and one brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Maxine J. Skinner of Biloxi; his son, Kernis Wayne Skinner, Jr., of Gulfport; his daughters, Tanya (Donald) Scott of D'Iberville and Audrey (Stephen) Hersey of Gulfport; his brother, Merlin Marechal of New Orleans, LA; his sisters, Linda Brim of Texas, Barbara Martin of New Orleans, and Beverly Peraza of Slidell, LA; three grandsons, two granddaughters and six great-granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. For more information, please call (228)539-9800.
