of Gulfport died Friday, April 28, 2006 in Gulfport.
He was a native of Jackson and lived in Gulfport most of his life. He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1978 and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, Gulf Coast Campus with a degree in Accounting. He was employed as an accountant at the South MS Regional Center. Kenneth was an avid drummer and he played in the Praise Band at Bayou View Baptist Church where he also was a member of the church choir. He played the drums in numerous productions at various theaters along the coast and was a member of the Musicians Union. Ken loved music, especially the Big Band era and playing with various musical groups.
Ken fought a couragous battle with cancer and his faith remained strong.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Williams, Jr..
Survivors include his parents, Bette and Norman Lassiter, Gulfport; sister, Terri (Tim) Murphy, Gulfport; step-sisters: Kathy Allen, Gulfport, Debbie McCabe, Pass Christian, and Deanna Tilley, Mandeville, LA; and step-brother, Kent Lassiter, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be 10:00 am Monday, May 1, 2006 at Bayou View Baptist Church. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Mendenhall Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
