Kenneth Charles Riviere, age 61, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 after a brief illness.
Kenneth was born on April 29, 1948 in Frisco, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter L. Riviere, Sr. and Mae Chenevert Riviere; and a brother, Peter L. Riviere, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Clare Cook Riviere, of Gulfport,; brothers, Donald J. Riviere of New Roads, LA, Rene R. Riviere of Huntsville, AL, Robert Riviere of Baton Rouge, LA, Ross R. Riviere of Lafayette, LA; his sisters, Joycelyn Newton of Livonia, LA, Elaine Scallan of Covington, LA, Carol Roy of Iota, LA, Jean Pitt of Lambeau, Tobago, Jeanne DeLaune of New Roads, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was a graduate of Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Formerly USL). He was a member of the Alpha Zeta Honor Fraternity. He was employed by Hancock Bank as a Loan Analyst. He was formerly President of the Loan Exchange, a volunteer with Habitat for Humanities and a mentor for students in the Gulfport school system. He and his wife, Clare, are members of the Great Southern Club, Gulfport, and past members of Pass Christian Yacht Club.
The family would like to thank his many friends who offered their love and support during his illness with a special thanks to his Second Street friends in Gulfport.
A memorial service for Gulfport friends will be held at a later date.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in New Roads, LA. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass.

The family would like contributions to his favorite charities: The Gulf Coast Habitat for Humanities, American Cancer Society and Harrison County Humane Society.
