Kenneth Eugene Hoffman, age 81, of Biloxi, passed away on August 17, 2023, in Biloxi.
Mr. Hoffman was born in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Minoa, NY. He attended General Motors Institute of Technology in Flynt, MI and pledged to Omega Epsilon Fraternity serving as Vice President. He joined the U.S. Navy serving on the SSN593 Thresher. He was selected in December 1962 to teach at the Nuclear Power Prototype School. He served on the SSBN636 Natihanial Green. Following his military service, he moved to Pascagoula and worked as the Lead Propulsion Engineer at Ingall’s Shipbuilding Inc. In 1996 he received the Litton Advanced Technology award for his achievements and held 5 patents for Ingalls. He served on St. Pierre's Episcopal Church Mission in Gautier. In retirement he joined Family Motor Coach Association and was a 21 year member of Magnolia Ramblers Motorhome Club traveling all of the contiguous USA. In the 2019-2020 he served as a Board Member of Beau View Condominium.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Kippley; biological parents, Kenneth W. Brown and Margaret Hunsinger Seidel; his adoptive parents, Elmer and Susan Hoffman; and his brother, Larry S. Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Paulette Taylor Hoffman; his children, Larry Hoffman, Robert Hoffman, Tanya Rycroft Tallarigo (Christopher), and Krisann Rycroft Dikes (Keith); and his sisters, Connie Kirkner (Jack) and Marianne Ammerman; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration Mass will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, West Taylor Road, Gulfport, at 4:00 pm. Committal with military honors will follow at the St. Mark’s Columbarium. A reception will be held in the parish hall from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
