Kenneth Maurice Hatten, 81, of Gulfport, MS died November 12, 2009 in Gulfport.
He was born in Lyman, Mississippi, November 17, 1927, and was the son of the late Burnell B. and Catherine Bull Hatten. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS in Accounting.
In 1951 he became associated with A.L. Evans and Company CPAaÌââ¢S, later becoming Wright, Ward, Hatten and Co. CPAaÌââ¢s. It is now Wright, Ward, Hatten and Guel CPAaÌââ¢s. Prior to his death he continued to work actively with the firm.
He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Gulf Coast chapter of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Hatten was also a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club and a charter member of the Great Southern Club. He was a former member of Les Cavaliers, where he served on the board of directors for many years. In addition he was a life member of the Gulfport Lodge Member 978 B.P.O.E.
Mr. Hatten was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lantrip Hatten and his parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Hatten Ladner, and her husband Bobby of Picayune, MS and Glynda Hatten Mosby and her husband Ford of Ridgeland, MS; four grandsons, Stephen Patrick Ladner and wife Kristen, Richard Maurice Ladner, Joseph Hammond Mosby and William Hatten Mosby.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Funeral services will follow visitation in the chapel at 10 a.m. Private family graveside services will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
