Kenneth Leroy Clark

Kenneth Leroy Clark, born on October 9, 1947, in Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on August 20, 2023, in Gulfport at the age of 75. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many.

After completing his education at Long Beach High School, Ken honorably served the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He earned the Purple Heart for his bravery during his military service. Ken was also honored as a 100% Disabled American Veteran.

Ken dedicated 31 years of his life working as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at Mississippi Power. His commitment and exceptional work ethic earned him several awards as well as the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Outside of work and military service, Ken possessed exceptional skills in welding, woodworking, carpentry, and cabinet making.  He had a deep-rooted passion for serving others. He volunteered on countless occasions throughout his life and found fulfillment in lending a helping hand whenever he could. One of his proudest accomplishments was contributing to the Rusty Pelican Restaurant in Long Beach and working as a handyman after retiring from Mississippi Power. Additionally, Ken served as President of Habitat for Humanity where he made a lasting impact on those in need.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ramona L. Clark, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. Their love was an inspiration to all who witnessed it. He is also survived by his sons, Dylan Clark and David Clark, daughter-in-law, Tiffany Clark, and his grandchildren Aaron Clark and Andrew Clark, and Alyssa Clark.

Ken will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His warm smile, caring nature, and selflessness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him. May his memory be a guiding light in our lives, reminding us to always show kindness and compassion to others.

A visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, Mississippi. The funeral service will commence at 10:00 AM in the in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Long Beach City Cemetery.
