Kenneth Carver

Kenneth Raymond Carver of Bessemer, AL, Pass Christian, MS and Foley, AL, passed away at home in Bessemer on February 18, 2022, at the age of 76.

He graduated from Foley High School in Foley, AL and played high school football with the great Kenny “Snake” Stabler for 3 years.  They grew up together and were good friends until the end.  When Kenny went to UA our Ken became a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War.

Ken was a great pool player.  He was a member of the APA in Birmingham where he won numerous awards.  He loved AL Football “Roll Tide Roll”.  He left Pass Christian to go work for Masonry Art where he retired and then started doing beautiful construction work around Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Edward Carver and Susie Carver of Foley; his brother Rev. Mervin Carver; and nephew, Doug Mitchell.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Shirley Harshbarger Carver; he was so proud of his two sons, Chuck Carver, Scott Carver who were his world; one sister, Sandra Carver Davis of Foley, AL.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Pass Christian, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, MS from1:00pm until the funeral service with Military Honors at 2:00pm. A private burial will take place at a future date.
