Kathryn Meighen

Kathryn Inez Meighen, age 94, a resident of Diamondhead, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 in Gulfport, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hudson Leon and Carrie McEwen Rayburn; brothers, LeRoy, Carl and Aubrey Rayburn; sisters, Ethel Cofield and Nell Dunaway.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Donna (Mike) Morgan of Plano, TX, and Billy (Tyra) Meighen of Diamondhead, MS; her grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Meighen of Magnolia, TX, Christopher (Kaleigh) Meighen of Hutto, TX, and Joshua Morgan of League City, TX; great grandchild, Avery Grace Meighen of Hutto, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a native of Columbia, MS and graduated from Hub High School in Columbia. Kathryn retired as a dorm mother from Pearl River Junior College in Poplarville, MS, enjoying gardening, crafting and quilting. She was a charter member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, Gulfport and a current member of Jacobs Well Baptist Church, Pass Christian, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Jacobs Well Baptist Church - Missions Fund, 29554 Vic Faye Rd., Pass Christian, MS 39571.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00am with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
