Kathryn Washer Heaton, age 48, an angel who shared on earth with those who loved her, returned to Heaven on Sunday, March 18, 2007.
She was preceded in death by two children, Jeanne Kathryn """"Katie"""", and John III; her parents, Teenie and Cyril Washer, Jr.; and two brothers, Cyril Washer III and Raymond Washer.
Kathy is the beloved wife for 26 years of John; mother of Jessica and Jamie; grandmother of Jenna, all of Pass Christian; identical and inseparable twin sister of Sharon (Richard) Miller, of Ocean Springs; sister of Patricia (Vernon) Ward, of Mary Esther, Florida; David (Peggy) Washer, of Biloxi; Tommy (Mary Washer, of High Springs, Florida; Tommy (Mary) Washer, of High Springs, Florida; Carolyn (Frank) Dailey, of Navarre Beach, Florida; Beth (Forrest) Fields, of Long Beach; Michael Washer, of Gulfport; Barbara (Brian) Cohen, of Marietta, Georgia; and Douglas Washer, of Biloxi; and was a very special aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many.
She graduated from Biloxi High School in 1976 and went on to finish the LPN program at Jefferson Davis/MS Gulf Coast Jr. College. She worked at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for six years, moving among pediatrics, the nursery, and oncology floors. Her special gift was always working with children, and she worked at the Children's Clinic with Dr. David Reeves' office for 22 years. She touched so many lives with her endless love and her passion for life and gave selflessly to all those lucky enough to love and be loved by her. She will be missed more than words can say.
She had a very special place in her heart for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, actively supported them, and would encourage anyone who wishes to make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at First United Methodist Church of Long Beach on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 12:00 noon, where friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Rev. Louis Lohan will be celebrant. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
