Kathleen Joan Markessinis Chamberlain Madden
Kathleen Madden, age 80 of Bay St. Louis, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
She was a native of Guilderland, New York and was a graduate of the Willard State Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. Kathleen was employed for 35 years as a psychiatric nurse with the Veteran's Administration Medical Centers in Albany, NY, New Orleans, LA, and Gulfport, MS. She was part of the team to establish the Drug and Alcohol Detox Units and the PTSD programs at the New Orleans VAMC and the Gulfport VAMC.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lawrence Markessinis; her mother, Angela Jean Monforte Markessinis; her brother, Lawrence Markessinis; and her beloved Bubba.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Susan Chamberlain, of Bay St. Louis, MS; her brothers, Martin Markessinis (Carlos), of Guilderland, NY and Ronald Markisenis (Karen), of Kingston, NY; her bonus granddaughter, Desiree Strong (Frank) of Bay St, Louis, MS; and her feline buddies Angeliki, Pork Chop, Lily, and Honey Bee.
Kathleen loved her pets, cooking, crafting, and socializing. It made her so happy to cook for others and share recipes. Cooking was a labor of love and she was happiest in the kitchen.

A memorial service will be held 5:30 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2019, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.
