Katherine "Kathy" Smith

Katherine “Kathy” Smith, age 76, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, which was the day of her and her loving husband’s 59th wedding anniversary.

Kathy was a loving wife to her husband, Alvin and a devoted mama to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker who co-owned and co-operated Smith Construction for over 40 years. She was a “Goodwill store junkie” that absolutely loved to thrift store shop and find awesome deals at garage sales. She also loved to create wonderful crafts and flower arrangements when she was not decorating her home and working in her yard. She was a member of the Biloxi River Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Smith; her son, Alvin James Smith; her great-grandson, Bentley Brashears; her parents, Jessie James and Beatrice Crosby; her mother and father-in-law, Allen and Annie Pearl Smith; her sister, Gloria “LoLo” (Hubert) Ford; her brothers-in-law, Herbert Smith, James “Smitty” Smith, Louis Smith, and Allen Smith.

Kathy is survived by her children, Kathy (Bryan) Miller, Alvin (Kelli) Smith, Jr., Gloria “Sissy” (Perry) Young, Louis James (Chasity) Smith, and Ashlee (Donathan) Necaise; her grandchildren, Ryan (Sam) Young, Kasey (Rachel) Smith, Alvin “Beau” Smith, III, Brock (Megan) Young, Danielle (Tim) Miller, Whitney (Shane) Smith, Mary (Nick) Gieseman, and Dylan Smith; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt (Gracey Ann), Kylee, Graysee Pearl,  McKinlee, Ayden, Addyson, Abigail, Holdyn, Adelynn, Emile, Brycn, Brody, Brynn, Perry Vance and Stetson James; soon to be great-great-grandchild, Josie Ann; her brother-in-law, Bobby Ray (Debbie) Smith; her sisters-in-laws, Lora Smith, Maria Smith, and Loretta “Tootie” Smith; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Tuesday, July 20th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.   Following services, Kathy will be laid to rest at Finley Cemetery.   The online guestbook may be viewed, and memories shared at www.riemannfamily.com
