Katherine Tillman

Katherine Mae Martin Tillman, age 86 of Slidell, LA, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Katherine was a native of New Orleans, but also had been a resident of Lakeshore, MS, Gulfport, MS, Osyka, MS, and Long Beach, MS. She graduated from Pass Christian High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Tillman; her son, Samuel “Sammie” Cuevas; her parents, James and Lizzy Baker Martin; her sister, Rebecca Martin Lee; and her brother, James Martin, Jr.

Katherine is survived by her son, James Cuevas (Betty Rush), her step-daughter, Donna Tillman Thiberville (Harold); her step-son, Karl Tillman (Donna White); her sister-in-law, Leona Tillman; her brother-in-law, Bill Lee; her sister-in-law, Darlene Hite Martin; and her brother-in-law, George Tillman; her grandchildren, Joshua Cuevas, Aaron Cuevas, Betty Stall Prentice, Becky Stall Henry, Katie Stall, Seth Tillman, Matthew Tillman, Karley Tillman, Lauren Tillman, Madeline Tillman, and Lattie Sale; 12 great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed gardening, walking, dancing, bible study, and cooking.

Katherine was a devoted Christian, housewife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all her family and friends. She is dancing in Heaven with her husband, Clarence. Thank you to all her family and friends for giving her such a rich life.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Flat Top Cemetery. Due to State Mandates on COVID-19, only 20 people are allowed to attend the service and masks are required.
