Katherine Sarros

Katherine (Kathy) Borreson Sarros, age 77, of Gulfport MS, passed away Monday February 7, 2022, at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport MS.

Kathy is survived by her spouse Tom Sarros of Gulfport MS; her daughters, Jamie Richard of Gulfport, MS, and Cynthia Simmons of D’Iberville, MS; her son, Joe Sarros of Long Beach MS; and 4 grandchildren, Charlotte Ladner of Gulfport, Kathleen (Katie) Simmons of Gulfport MS, Wesley Simmons of Gulfport, MS, and Ayden Sarros of Long Beach MS.

Kathrine Borreson Sarros was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on August 16, 1944, to the late John C. Borreson and Charlotte Borreson, both of whom were buried in the Biloxi National Cemetery. When Kathy was 13 years old, the family moved to Dallas, Texas. Kathy graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, TX. She worked at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport where she managed the telephone system for the center. Kathy retired in 1989 and enjoyed music, dancing, and shopping. She always liked to dress up and always looked sharp no matter where she went.

A visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS, 1-2 pm on February 16, 2022. She will be buried in Coalville Cemetery in a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Mississippi Humane Society in Gulfport.
