Karen Juanita "Nita" Press, age 72 of Gulfport, passed away on July 23, 2021, the same day that her mother passed away in 2012.
Nita was born in Gulfport to Bobbie Johnson and Jack Lee Thomas. She was a lifelong member of Handsboro United Methodist Church and retired as a Pediatric Activities Coordinator from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Scott Press; children, Clifford Scott Press and Jessica Elizabeth Windham; brother, Jack Dell Thomas (Catherine Mount); and her grandchildren, Pressley Rae Windham, Cohen Scott Press, and Molly Michael Windham.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at 10:00a.m. The family will receive friends at their home after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harrison County Humane Society, www.hssm.com .
