June Cullinane Rettig, age 83, of Gulfport, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Rettig was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Mrs. Rettig and her husband, Fred, owned the Amoco Service Station on Hwy 90 and later, she and her family owned and operated C & D Gumbo House. After retirement, she provided child care in her home for several families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Rettig, Jr., a daughter, Linda Brown, a son, Fred Rettig, III, 4 brothers, William, Frank, Murdock, and George Cullinane, and 1 sister, Bernice Carriere.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Angela (Leonard) Papania, ,her great-grandchildren, James, Nicholas, Bennett, and Rosemary Papania, 1 sister, Betty Casano, a son-in-law, Jimbo Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am by Fr. Bernie Papania and Deacon Dick Henderson on Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road., where friends may visit from 10 - 11 am.
Interment will be in Biloxi National cemetery.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUENRAL HOME, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
