Julius Kelvin Payne-Hayes Sr., age 84, of Gulfport, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 21, 2019. He passed away after a sudden battle with cancer.
Julius enjoyed coin collecting, gardening, fishing, walking and taking care of his fur baby "Mickey", bird feeding, making sure everyone had a smile,, exercising, reading the news, and watching Harry Potter. He was a huge fan of soccer, especially Barcelona soccer star, Messi.
Julius enjoyed life, family and had many friends. He always had a smile on his face and brightened the life of everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents Humberto and Lila (Hayes) Payne; his sister, Edna Conedera; and his brother, Humberto Payne Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Belia (Iglesias) Payne; his children, Julius K. (Kristi) Payne Jr., Lurbin (Javier) Crespo, Elizet (Miguel Barrantes) Payne, Ana Lila (William Orton) Payne, and Sandra K. Payne; his grandchildren, Julissa (James) Bishop, Claudia (William) Lee, Jose Miguel Barrantes, Andres Barrantes, Ilse (Andre Moya) Crespo, Lisa Marie Marrero, Alina Marrero, and Olga Smith; his great grandchildren, Isabella Marrero, Adriana Smith, and Andre Javier Moya Jr.; his sister, Sandra Gilma Payne; and his beloved fur baby, Mickey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 1:00pm, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:00pm at the church and then 2:00-3:00pm, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi.
