Woolmarket

Judy Ann Carver, 78, of Woolmarket, MS, passed away on November 24, 2023.

Judy was a woman of great faith, who served God, her family, and her community. Judy ministered to her church family in various roles throughout her life. She served as a Deacon’s wife, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, church nursery worker, and chaperoned numerous youth group trips. She served on the Woolmarket Little League Board for many years and coached many softball teams. She coached and played on the ladies’ church softball team until she was unable to play any longer.

She was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband of 57 years, John. They were blessed in their marriage and leave a legacy of 29 members. Judy was active in the lives of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally, supported and attended all their various activities. Judy had a special bond with her mother by marriage, Lousie Douglas. Their love and respect for each other was inspiring to all the family and anyone who knew them.

Judy loved children and it was reflected in her career choice when she established Judy’s Day Care in 1983. She has provided loving childcare for well over 500 children and their parents in the Woolmarket community. Judy used her business as an opportunity to minister to the families when needed. Her daycare is currently on the second generation of many families.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Carver, her parents, Earl and Winnell Herring, and her siblings George Herring and Willie Herring.

She is survived by her children, Cathy (John) Yarbrough, Patti (Kenny) Wilson, Laurie Carver, Julie (Robert) Romero, and Sherry (Keith) Manz; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amber (Levi) Hood, Lauren (Matthew) Landrum, Courtney (Jesse) Richard, Jordan Wilson, Jake Wilson, Jenna (Kyle) Peterman, Katie Wilson, Logan Manz, Gabby Manz, Madalyn & Hadleigh Hood, Brayon, Aubrey & Karlee Landrum, and Easton & Blakeleigh Richard.
