Juanita Dooley McMillin, age 89 and long time resident of Biloxi, died July 4, 2010 in Biloxi.
She was born in Lessley, MS to Peter Daniel Dooley and Annis Dooley on March 11, 1921.
Mrs. McMillin received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Indiana University, her Master of Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi, and served 30 years in the Biloxi School System. She was a member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church.
She was a Master Gardener for 28 years, and served over 30 years in the following groups: the Mississippi Gulf Coast Camellia Society, Orchid Society, Sunkist Garden Club, American Orchid Society, Gulf Coast Daylily Club, and the American Rose Society.
Beloved by family and friends, Juanita enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Mitchell Dooley, Claude Dooley, Louise Dooley, Clarence Dooley, and Vera Belle Dooley.
She is survived by her children, Charles Coburn McMillin of Slidell, LA, and Daniel Lee McMillin of Hattiesburg, MS; two grandchildren, Robert Daniel McMillin of Slidell, MS, and Kimberly McMillin Viehweg of Hattiesburg, MS; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville, MS. Pallbearers are Charles McMillin, Daniel McMillin, Robert McMillin, Kurt Viehweg, Jimmy Hodge, and Paul Dooley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Camellia Society National Headquarters, 100 Massee Lane, Fort Valley, GA 31030.
