Joyce Smith Warren

Joyce Smith Warren, born on September 21, 1944, peacefully passed on February 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and community. A longtime resident of Purvis, Joyce made significant contributions throughout her life, both in her professional career and as a cherished family member.

 In 2014, Joyce retired from the United States Post Office after dedicating 17 ½ years of service as a Rural Route Carrier. Before embarking on her career with the USPS, her earlier accomplishments as a dynamic Real Estate Agent and small business Owner were preceded by a fulfilling 12-year career as a Cosmetologist with McRae’s, where her talent and passion for beauty flourished.

 Beyond her professional pursuits, Joyce was a devoted family woman who treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She had a passion for traveling and savored the adventures and memories created from numerous family excursions. Her mornings began enjoying a soothing cup of coffee and relishing in phone conversations with friends and family. Joyce held dear the simple joys of life, particularly movie nights & weekends with her three granddaughters, Madison E. Warren, Hannah E. Warren, and Haley R. Warren. Times spent with her ‘girls’ were by far THE BRIGHTEST moments of her life!

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie W. Smith and Ada A. Smith (Gipson); her brothers, Mack Smith and Ray Smith.

 Treasured memories are held by her children, Kevin Bailey, Laura Taylor, Carmen Taylor, and Steven Warren; and her brothers, Donnie Smith & Judy and Dean Smith & Lela; and her sister, Sherri Hannaford & Benny.

 Joyce Smith Warren will be remembered affectionately for her remarkable and tenacious spirit, unwavering work ethic, and profound love for her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

A Celebration of Life / Memorial Gathering will be held on March 8th at 711 Magnolia St, Long Beach from 10:00am – 11:30am followed by a 12:00pm Luncheon at 10907 Waterside Dr, Gulfport.
