Joyce Bobbett Martin

Joyce Bobbett Martin, age 78 of Long Beach, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Bobbett and Myrtis Strahan Bobbett.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward L. Martin; her children, Brian Martin and Kelly Garriga; her grandchildren, Klain Garriga III, Cameron Garriga, Ava Nolasco; her sisters, Polly Roragen and Vicky Wade; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Don and Tina Martin and Karen and Ron Bishop; and friends who became family, Clint and Brenda Conerly, and Sandy Floyd.

She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She graduated from Gulfport High School in 1963 and also graduated from Phillips Business College.

Joyce was employed by Newton and Hoff Law Firm but retired to take care of her grandchildren.  She was a charter member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, Gulfport and was a devoted Christian.

She delighted in her children and grandchildren and used her amazing talents to create memorable cakes, costumes, and art projects.  Her decorated cakes were the hit of every family celebration and of any event she brought them to. Joyce was a gifted storyteller.  She brought everyday events in her world to life - often in a very humorous way.  

She will greatly be missed by her family and friends. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Long Beach City Cemetery.
