Joyce Ann Frederick “Granny” Ladner, a resident of Necaise Crossing, Mississippi for 50 years, passed away at her home on Friday, March 25, 2022.
She was born to Alfred and Lucy Frederick on December 8, 1950, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was a member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church of White Cypress.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Roger Dean Ladner, Sr.; her son, Desi Ladner; her great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Smith; and her 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by a host of dear family members: her children, Deana Saucier (Eugene), Deidra Nelson (Shannon), Roger “Duke” Ladner, Jr. (Mona), Robert Wright, and Sammie Cuevas (Jeromy); daughter-in-law, Ola Ladner; her companion of 5 years, Charles “Papa” Rick McCollum; daughter-in-love, Bridgette Ladner; son-in-love, Jeff “Bubba” Anderson; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 God-children; 2 brothers, Winfred Frederick and David Frederick; 1 sister, Ledia Reyer; sister-in-love, Deana Fawns; and many bonus children and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family from all over the world.
Friends are invited to join the Ladner family for visitation on Wednesday, March 30th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church of White Cypress, 27074 St. Matthew Church Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 p.m.
Following Mass, she will be laid to rest at Necaise Crossing Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Donovan Saucier, Dakota Saucier, Brandon Bond, Tres Ladner, Shannon Nelson, Dathan Wright, Dane Cuevas, and Aaron Cuevas. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Ladner, Peyton Morgan, Mason Cuevas, Talan Saucier, Bowen Bond, Halo Grimlin, Legacy Dephilips, Kacen Lacy, Waelyn Smith and Liam Saucier (in absentia).
