Joy Evelyn Pape McMahon, 91, died on December 4, 2006, in Diamondhead, Mississippi, where she had resided for the past eight years.
She was a member of the Diamondhead Community Church and Chapter T of the Diamondhead P.E.O.
Ms. McMahon was born and resided in Chicago, Illinois for 66 years before moving to Huntington Beach, California in 1981 to be near her daughter, Cheryl Lynn Ramseyer and two grandsons, James Andrew St. Pierre and Brett Austin St. Pierre. In addition to the grandsons, she leaves Brett's wife, Edana, two great-grandchildren, Aryanna and Samuel St. Pierre of Orange, California, and her son-in-law Phillip A. Ramseyer of Diamondhead.
Ms. McMahon worked as a secretary for 60 years after graduating from high school in 1933. She began her secretarial career at Spiegel's and continued at General Electric, the Building Trades Union, and Executive Secretary at McCormick Place in Chicago and later at the Huntington Beach-Fountain Valley Baptist Church.
She was the epitome of the secretary in her appearance and her work ethic. Everywhere she worked she was seriously missed when she moved on to a new employer.
