Joy Lyons

Joy Chalona Lyons, age 89, died on June 7, 2007 in New Orleans, Louisiana. A native of New Orleans, she resided in Pass Christian for twenty years before returning to New Orleans 5 years ago. Beloved wife of the late Dr. J. Morgan Lyons, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Joan Blum. She is survived by her son John M. Lyons Jr. and daughter in law Diane B. Lyons, and four grandchildren, Robert L. Blum and his wife Elizabeth B. Blum, Adele B. Endom and husband Fredrick Endom, John M. Lyons III, MD, and his wife London G. Lyons, MD, and Thomas J. Lyons, and three great grandchildren. She was a member of the Orleans Club and a graduate of Loyola University, New Orleans, a past member of the Pass Christian Yacht Club, the Auxiliary of the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club, a past member of the Orleans Parish Medical Auxiliary, and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Services were held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, 3 Rivers Road Chapel. Interment followed at Gulf Pines Cemetery. Masses preferred.
