Joseph P. """"J.P."""" Poulos, age 70, resident of D'Iberville, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008, in D'Iberville.
Mr. Poulos was born in Biloxi and graduated from D'Iberville High School in 1957. He was the Harbor Master at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor for over 20 years. He was loved by those around the harbor, and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and being around the water.
Mr. Poulos was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years on February 17, 2008, Rita Danielle Poulos; and his parents, Jospeh Peter and Irene Trochessett Poulos.
Survivors include his children, Scott Joseph Poulos and wife, Beth, of Saucier; Cameron V. Poulos, of Ocean Springs; and Charmayne Purvis and husband, Jason, of Gulfport; brothers, Larry """"Rip"""" Poulos of Biloxi and his wife Ginny, and Raymond Poulos of Palm Coast, FL and his wife Carol; sisters, Mary Ann Lindquist of Surprise, AZ and her husband Bert, and Brenda Tillman of Biloxi; six grandchildren, Cameron W. Poulos, Jessica Poulos, Jillian Poulos, Zachary Poulos, Chad Freeman, and Dani Merritt; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron J. Poulos, Andrew Poulos, Emaleigh Poulos, and Reighlyn Poulos.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the charity of one's choice.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 9:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church in Latimer.
