Joseph Edward (J.E.) Ladner, age 74, was embraced by his Heavenly Father on July 30, 2007 in Gulfport.
aÌâÅPapa JoeaÌâ was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian and a member of St. William Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-great grandfather. He enjoyed playing the bass fiddle long ago with family and friends. He also enjoyed wood works.
aÌâÅSlimaÌâ worked for McSmith Garment Factory, Ingalls, and later retired from Anchor Glass Company in Gulfport where he was employed for 30 years. He served 6 years in the National Guard with 3 years being active.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Ladner; a precious little granddaughter, Melissa Johnson; his parents, Loren and Ella Ladner; three brothers, Nolan, Noel and Ora Ladner; a sister, Nolia Cuevas.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Francis Ladner of Pass Christian; 3 daughters, Deborah (Prentiss) Cuevas of Lizana; Ella (Wayne) Malley of Pass Christian, Derina Labauve of Pass Christian; 3 sons, Norbert (Marilyn) Ladner, Ronald (R.J.) Ladner and Paul Ladner all of Pass Christian.
He loved and cherished all 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Memorial Hospital and the Memorial Cancer Center for your dedication and kindness that you gave to him.
Visitation is Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Kiln-DeLisle Road in Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 3, 2007 at St. William Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
