Joseph "Joe" Oren Ing, age 72, of Vancleave, passed away on January 5, 2023, in New Orleans, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oren & Aleda “Frey” Ing; his sister, Karen McGraw; and his son, Roy E. Necaise, Jr.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rosaria “Chayo” Ing; his children, Toni Schonewitz (Brian), Michelle Ing (Shawn Kadlick), Corey Ing (Kelly), and Cory Necaise (Kristen Thomas); sister, Vickie Ing Roberts; grandchildren, Jacob E. Necaise (Linda), Ashley Quintela (Sean Hebert), Avery Quintela, Austyn Quintela, Jacob "Jake" Schonewitz, Justin Schonewitz (Farrah), Caleb Ing, Alyssa Ing, Devyn Priselac, and Ava Diane Priselac; great grandchildren, Addison R. Necaise, Stormy Mock, Harley J. Necaise, Adrianna, and Asher Sean Hebert, Nolan Schonewitz, and Grayden Lasabbe; nieces, Lori Nicholas and Dana Conley; nephew, Reese Roberts; and great nephews.

He was a native of Pontiac, IL and a current resident of Vancleave, MS. Joe had bomb defusing training, he attended the National Fire Academy and Louisiana State University Firefighter II, 1990. Joe was a retired Deputy Fire Marshall with Gulfport. He received recognition from Pass Christian Fire Dept. for contributions during Fire Prevention week 2002, the Rotary Club as Fire Marshall, the city council and mayor for fire apprehension, off duty service, 1990, American Legion Auxiliary, 2006, and NCBC Certification of Appreciation for Child Safety House 2004. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved making new things from others trash.

Special thanks to attending staff of Ocean Springs ER for quick assessment and need for transfer, to the ER nurses at Ochsner’s Hospital for compassion, to the doctors at Ochsner’s Hospital, NRCC and Neurology ICU units for their care and concern, not only for the patient but all family members present with Joe during his last hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 4 - 6 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
