Joseph (Joey) Thurman Davis, age 40 and a resident of Ocean Springs, MS, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in Ocean Springs.
Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents and his Father, Ronald Thurman Davis.
He is survived by his Mother, LaNelle Miller Davis, Long Beach, his children, Lauryn Davis and Alyssa Davis, Gulfport, his sister, Sonja Gaddy and her husband Gene, Gulfport, a niece, Janie Gaddy, and nephews, Cliff, Jacob, and Ira Gaddy, all of Gulfport, his fiancee', Beverly Kovacevich Forehand and her children JaBrian, Jennifer, and Melissa, all of Ocean Springs, his Godchild, Alley Kovacevich, of Ocean Springs, and the Kovacevich family.
Joey was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport, an avid golfer and softball player. He enjoyed boating and cooking. Joey was a fan of Nascar, Alabama Crimson Tide, and New Orleans Saints.
Joey was a very caring person and his nature was evident during Hurricane Katrina as he was instrumental in saving his family and rescuing 15 other Biloxi residents.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, 3 Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport, where friends may call from noon until service time. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
