Joseph Ray Cox

Joseph Ray Cox, age 56, resident of Saucier and native of Bay Minette, AL, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014.
Ray was born in Baldwin County, AL to Stanley and Ethel Godwin Cox. He was employed with Shell Petroleum since 1980 where he spent most of his career on the MARS TLP rig. Ray and his wife were members of Northwood Church in Gulfport, he was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, loved fishing, and was an accomplished household and automotive DIY'er.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Jerome Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne T. Cox of Saucier, MS; children, Byron R. Cox (Katie Toth) of Mobile, AL, Scarlet J. Cox of Gulfport, MS, Shellie R. Cooley of Lumberton, MS, and Joe Keith, Jr. of Lumberton, MS; siblings, Barbara Eubanks, Alice Brusingham, Sharon Duff, Margaret Toler, Carol Powell, Kay Sudduth, David Cox, Wayne Cox, and Jim Cox; and grandchildren, Allison and Thomas Stafford, and Sara and Zoey Strouse.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m .
A reception will follow at the funeral home.
