Joseph Andrew Boyer, age 30 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Thursday, November 23, 2006 in Long Beach.
Mr. Boyer was a lifelong resident of the coast and a graduate of Gulfport High School. He was a chef on the coast for 15 years. His last employer was Beau Rivage. He was a National Award Winner for the US Achievement Academy and a published poet in Moonlit Memories in 2000. Mr. Boyer was a loving father and a devoted husband.
Mr. Boyer is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mildred Elizabeth Gill Brock and Wayne Waldo Brock, paternal grandparents, Author Bryant and Louiza Hoda Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Kristen Ann O'Rourke Boyer of Long Beach; parents, Marie Boyer and William Boyer of Gulfport; son, Alexander James Boyer of Long Beach; brother, Thomas James Boyer of Gulfport; grandparents, Daniel and Kathleen Boyer of Pass Christian; and great grandparents, William and Hazel Russo of Pass Christian.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Riemann family's GULF COAST FUNERAL HOMES, Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. Services will be Monday, November 27, 2006 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
