Jose Medina

Jose Gonzalez Medina, 91 years old, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Gulfport, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Antonia, beloved wife Carmen, brother Wilfredo Medina, sister Piringa, daughters Iris (Herbert) Lugo and Roshanara Cortes, son Irineo "Junior" Luciano, and granddaughter, Leticia Torres.

Survived by his sons, Jose E. Medina and Luis (Maria) Torres, brother Salvador and sister Mercedes, grandchildren Melissa (Victor) Caquias, Robert Cortes, Melinda Torres, Teresa Torres, Luis (Rose) Torres, Jr., Wilcarlos Luciano, Ricky Luciano, Steve Luciano, and Rafael Luciano, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jose was born January 22, 1934, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico and then moved to New York where he met his beautiful wife, Carmen. They were married for 65 years. He retired from a printing company and then moved to Puerto Rico before relocating to Gulfport, Mississippi 17 years ago. He loved going to the casinos on Sundays and spending time with family playing BINGO! His favorite pastime was watching the Mets games with his sons. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 1 until 2 PM, followed by a prayer service at 2 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.

Mr. Medina will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
