Johnny Pellegrin

Johnny L. Pellegrin, 80, a native of Lockport, Louisiana, and resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Richardelle Pellegrin; sons, Charles

Pellegrin (Ronnette), and William Pellegrin (Angie); daughter, Deirdre Pellegrin-Payne

(James, Jr.); brother, Theodore “Ted” Pellegrin (Geri); grandchildren, Alexis Pellegrin, James Payne, III, and Wyatt Payne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his canine companion Lucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Noelie and Johnny J. Pellegrin; brother, Guy Pellegrin; sister, Veronica Wilden; nephew, Jimmy Pellegrin; niece, Nina Gilcrease; inlaws, Eunice and Irene Richardelle; brothers-in-law E.J. Richardelle and Tillman Martin.

He worked in electronics and communications sales and service, having worked for Motorola, Lafourche Telephone Co., ART Electronics, and Sola Communications, among others. He also taught electronics at the Vocational-Technical school in Galliano, LA. He was a Scoutmaster for Cub Scout Pack 333 in Larose, Louisiana. During retirement he enjoyed gardening with his wife, tending to his fruit trees, and took simple pleasure in nature. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, August 28, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pass Christian, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 9 am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian.
