SCPO Johnny L. McGuire (USN Retired), age 84, passed away on March 1, 2022 in Gulfport, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Maudie McGuire; siblings, Wilford McGuire, Ona Huff, Willard McGuire, Cleo Gregory, Margie Harwood; children, Jennifer Denise Ladner, Lannie Ladner, Dennis Ladner, Kevin Ladner.
He is survived by his wife DiLene Brady McGuire; three children, Ray Plescia (Rhondalyn) of Covington, LA, MeLinda Depumpo (Mike) of Biloxi, Johnny Lee McGuire II (Sharon) of Beverly Hills, FL; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; Frieda Waltrip of Sapulpa, OK, James McGuire of Kellyville OK, Mary Brewer of Lincoln, AL, Lena Nielsen (Delbert) of Moody, AL; siblings, numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnny, also known as “Mac” or “John”, was born in Eldridge, Missouri and was a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, mainly Gulfport and Biloxi. He served 22 years in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman, serving in the Vietnam War, and retiring as Senior Chief Petty Officer. After his military career, he owned and operated Mac’s Pool Service for over 20 years. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County. Funeral services will be Monday, March 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation 30 minutes before the service, at the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.
