Johnnie "JC" Christine

Johnnie M. “JC” Christine, age 79, of Long Beach, passed away on September 27, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Christine and Ethel Bradshaw Christine; his siblings: Charles E. Christine, Robert Christine, and David Christine; and a granddaughter, Judy Hesson.

He is survived by his wife, Eddie Ruth Christine; his children, Johnnie M. Christine, Jr, Theresa Cook, and Deanna Gomez; his step-children, Becky Owens, Jamie Henderson, James R. Reilly, Patrick S. Reilly, and David W. Reilly; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Christine was a native of Houston, TX and was a longtime resident of the coast.  He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Rochester (CA-124) and was honorably discharged in 1961.  He worked as a truck driver and his last employment was with Baily Lumber Company in Gulfport.  He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and he enjoyed bowling and darts.

A memorial service will be at 3 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  Friends may visit from 2 – 3 pm.  A private interment will take place in Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
