Johnnie Benjamin Stewart, Sr., age 73, of Gulfport passed away Monday, August 25, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Stewart was a resident of the coast since 1955. He worked for Colonial Bakery for 30 years, and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, tinkering with anything, and lawn work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Thelma Stewart. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Mildred """"Mickey"""" Ladner Stewart of Gulfport; his children: Johnnie B. """"Benji"""" Stewart and his wife Stephanie of Gulfport; Vincent Stewart of Gulfport; and Angela """"Angie"""" Church and Michael Merrill of Long Beach; his sister, Christine Hudson of Walker, LA; and 8 grandchildren: Tristan, Kaleigh, Damon Church, Destiney Stewart, Anthony, Emily, Richard, and Chris.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery in Gulfport.
