Johnnie Bee Naylor

Johnnie Bee Naylor, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on July 18, 2011 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kate Williams; a cousin, Charles Robert Slaughter; and her parents, Johnnie and Lena Naylor.
She is survived by her niece, Bobbe Arnold and her husband, Joe, of McMinnville, OR and their children, Christopher Arnold and his wife, Kristin, Nicole Arnold, Danielle Julier and her husband, Mike; and Bobbe's grandchildren, Sydney Julier, Lena Arnold, and Reese Julier; cousins, Marguerite Slaughter of Pascagoula, MS, Suzanne Williams of Pascagoula and her children, Matthew Williams and his wife, Ann, and Maggie Williams, Cindy Aplin of Gulfport and Stephanie Guirola and her husband, Judge Louis Guirola, of Gulfport and their children, Angela, Kathryn, and Melissa Guirola.
A native of Meridian, MS, she was a graduate of Meridian High School and attended business school and worked for the Soil Conservation Service until late 1945. She then worked as an accounting clerk in revenue accounting for Mississippi Power Company until her retirement 43 years later. She relocated to Gulfport in 1968 while still employed at Mississippi Power Company. After retirement, she remained active in retiree functions.
Bee was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Gulfport where she was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Altar Society and the Young at Heart. She was a recipient of Lumen Christi award.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Gulfport, with visitation from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A graveside service will held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Magnolia Cemetery, Meridian, MS.
