Mr. Johnnie Ray Fayard, age 78, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mr. Fayard was a lifelong resident of Gulfport, where he was born to William Henry and Frances Schiaffino Fayard on June 20, 1932. He was a graduate of St. John High School and was the co-owner of Fayard Moving and Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jo Carnes Fayard; brothers, A.C. Fayard, Ed Fayard, W.H. Fayard, Jr., Charles (Mackie) Fayard; a sister, Dorothy Fayard Smith.
He is survived by his children, Johnnie Ray Fayard, Jr. (Tanya) of Gulfport, Janet McDonald of Gulfport, Sandra Jeschke (Klaus) of Gulfport, and Alicia Frommeyer (Billy) of Gulfport; sisters, Bernadette Hansen and Leta Hug; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Fayard of Gulfport and Helen Fayard of Long Beach; grandchildren, Vic McDonald, Jr. (Rebekah), Amity M. LeBleu, Kelly Pinkham (Tim), Tripp and Tory Fayard, Quinn, Sophie, and Katie Frommeyer; great grandchildren, Christian and Anne-Marie McDonald, Lily and Landry LeBleu, and Noah Pinkham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard Chapin, Carl Lizana, Tripp Fayard, Vic McDonald, Jr., Mike Blake, and Richard Wagner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Sanders, Ron Werby, Robert Carnes, Leroy Pucheu, Raymond Sinopoli, and Gary Gollott.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 2414 17th St., Gulfport, MS 39501, or the John and Betty Fayard Education Trust, Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Biloxi, Inc., 1790 Popps Ferry Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 1, 2010, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 5:00 p.m. where family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
