John Allen Gill, III.

d. October 7, 2021

Biloxi

Biloxi Back Bay has lost one of its lifelong sons.  John Allen “Johnny” Gill, III. a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi, passed away while on vacation in Costa Rica on October 7, 2021, leaving his wife, father, mother and friends shocked and heartbroken.

Johnny was the co-owner of On The Water, LLC. specializing in marine construction of piers, bulkheads, harbors, boathouses and marinas.  He was an avid football fan, faithfully cheering for his Florida Gators and New Orleans Saints weekly.  He dearly loved to salt water fish and grew up doing so in the Biloxi Back Bay and around the Barrier Islands.  A Master-boiler in his own right, he could boil up a pot of crabs or crawfish that would make you wish it never ran out, and was an excellent cook in the kitchen as well. Spending time with friends and family was his favorite place to be.  He will be deeply missed.

Johnny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cot and Lillian Gill; his maternal grandparents, Patti Kennedy and Wes Courson; and his father in law, Jimmie Gilbert.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Beckie Sue Gill; his father, John A. Gill, Jr; his mother, Susan Courson; and his sister Brandilyn Gill Eskelinen (Seth); his mother in law, Linda Saucier; and numerous cousins, relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to thank David and Diane Riemann for taking our hands and guiding us through our heartache, as well as Brad Orrison and Brook Orrison Lewis of “The Shed” for the generosity of offering the facility to let us Celebrate Johnny’s Life.

A private memorial service will be held for Johnny’s immediate family and closest friends at one of his favorite places on Magnolia Bend.

We invite all friends and relatives to join us on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until … for a Celebration of Life Gathering at “The Shed” 7501 Highway 57.
