John Danny Williams

December 6, 1946 — January 2, 2008

John Daniel """"Danny"""" Williamsbetter known as """"Mechanic and Sap,"""" was a resident of Pass Christian, MS. He was born December 6, 1946 in Bay St. Louis, MS. On Wednesday, January 2, 2008, he went to be with the Lord at the age of 61. He graduated from Pass Christian High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Shop and History from USM. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a jet mechanic and was also a member of the Air Force National Guard at Keesler AFB. He retired from Stennis in 1994. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #5931 in Pass Christian, MS, member of the American Legion Post #0145 in Avon, IN and of the National Rifle Association. He was of the Catholic faith.
Danny was a special person to his family and friends, always there putting himself last and everyone else first. He was a loving husband to Barbara and spent all his time making sure that the love of his life was happy. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Danny and his friend Chuck went to Colorado hunting every year for the last thirty years, but most of the time came home without the elk he so avidly hunted. We shall all miss this angel, but know he is in a better place where there is no pain.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Dewey (Red) Williams, Sr. and Mary Bernice Wise Williams Sheffield two brothers, Kenneth Dewey(Kenny) Williams, Jr., Raymond Leland Williams; two uncles Charles L. Williams and Charles Bates.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara """"Honey Bun"""" Ladner Williams; two sons, Perry (Sissy) Young, Gary L. Young (Peggy Thomas); four daughters, Dana Denise Williams, Cindy Williams Malley (Kirby Ladner), Jennifer Ann (Travis) Northrup and Barbara """"Danielle"""" Williams (Jarrett Bass); thirteen grandchildren, Ryan and Brock Young, Felicia Young, Justin Gambill and Destiny Porter, Johnathan """"Blaine"""" Williams and Reagan Williams, Katie Malley and Briar Wiliams, Skylar Spiers, Colton, Jaylen, and Cortney Northrup; two sisters, Marjorie Netto Schroeder, all of Pass Christian and Patricia """"Pattie"""" (Bob) Olson of Destin, FL.; two brothers, Charles """"Teddy"""" (Brenda) Netto of Pass Christian and David Edmund Williams of Gulfport ; three aunts, Betty Bates of Pass Christian, Wanda (Reuben) Wittman of Valrico, FL, and Donna (Ike) Mullins of Avon, IN; three godchildren, Bridget Wilson of Necaise Crossing, Ann Smith and Susan Bull of Saucier; a dear friend and hunting partner, Chuck Cox.
Pallbearers are Roger Abernathy, Danny Ray Williams, Ryan Young, Brock Young, Blaine Williams, Mickey Pavolini, Joey Moran, Ray Caccioppo and Reagan Williams.
Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2008 from 5:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at GULF COAST FUNERAL HOMES, 9113 Kiln-DeLise Road, Pass Christian. Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux Community at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
