John Joseph Verdigets Jr., of Gulfport, Ms, and a long time Long Beach resident, passed away at age 60 on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Catherine Jonnette Verdigets; son, Brian J Verdigets (Nikki); stepdaughters Sarah J Fournier (Cameron) and Mariah L Pitalo (Steven); grandchildren Logan, Raegan, and Morgan Verdigets, Ethan Fournier, Madelyn """"Lulu"""" and Makaelyn Bayhi; sister, Cheryl Boyd (Bubba) and family; Uncle Sal, Aunt Carol, the Giuffria family; and mother, Felicia L Verdigets. He was preceded in death by his father, John J Verdigets.
Dedicated to his """"2nd"""" family at Ms Power, Johnny devoted 28 years in mechanical maintenance at Plant Jack Watson. He was a proud marine and passed away on the 234th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.
Johnny was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed fishing, boating, Harley road trips, NASCAR, and vacationing in Mexico.
Johnny was selfless and personable and had a unique sense of humor that captivated the hearts of many. Johnny was dearly loved and will be missed.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm with a Mass of Christian Burial Service at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at St Thomas Church, 5557 Daugherty Rd, Long Beach MS.
