John F. """"Jack"""" Vanaman, Sr., age 72, of Saucier, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mr. Vanaman was a native of Abington, PA and had been a resident of the coast since 1967. He served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and later retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 568. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Vanaman.
Survivors include his children: Davena Joan Ladner, John Frederick Vanaman, Jr., and Allen Vanaman, all of Saucier; 3 siblings: Dorothy Walters, Thelma Vanaman, and Rev. David Vanaman; his grandchildren: Terrance Gregory Ladner, Amber Nichol Ladner, Deena Michelle Nolan, Kayla J. Vanaman, Javen D. Vanaman, Blake Anthony Vanaman, and Jennifer Lynette Vanaman, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three RIvers Road. The funeral service will be at 7pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
A private interment, with military honors, will be held Friday at Biloxi National Cemetery.
