John Thompson

John Edward Thompson, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at his home in Diamondhead.

John graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then served in the U.S. Air Force as an SMS Agent in the Office of Special Investigations. John earned a Meritorious Service Award from the Department of Defense. He stayed busy with his interests that included golf, Coast Chorale and having the honor of being the first man to serve as a Duke two different times in Nereids. He was also a member of Masons Organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollie Thompson and Katherine Thompson; and brothers, David Thompson and Phillip Thompson.

John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane Saiewitz Thompson; children, Mark Allen Thompson (Julie) and Karla Thompson Cousins; grandchildren, Erica Thompson Brossard, Nicole Thompson Hill, and Katie Diane Cousins; great grandchildren, James Emile Broussard, Finley Hill, Amelia Hill; and sister, Naomi Thompson Schober.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and Registered Nurse Nancy Campbell for the care they provided to John during his illness.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 12 at 2:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to any animal charity.
