John Robert Emry, a.k.a. "Boomer Bob", 87 of Diamondhead, MS, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023. He was born in Kokomo, IN to the late George and Irene Emry. Bob is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 65 years, Mary M. Emry, and his son, Robert J. Emry.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane A. Aguda; son-in-law, Catalino Aguda III; granddaughter, Amanda Arnold; great-granddaughter, Skyler Mosher, and his daughter-in-law, Debbie Garrett.
In 1962, Bob moved his family to Jupiter, FL, where he worked as a Computer Analyst for companies such as RCA and Pratt Whitney. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball.
Bob moved to Diamondhead in 1982 to take a position with the Martin Marietta Aerospace shuttle program. After the shuttle disaster, he went to work at the Mississippi Department of Higher Education and Stennis Space Center.
Bob was an avid golfer, participating in many tournaments, where he and his friend John Hayes were unstoppable, Bob was also the "Big Kahuna" at the Diamondhead Country Club one year. Bob also enjoyed going to see Nick Perkins "Elvis", with his family and friends.
Bob will be missed by many people. Per his wishes, there will be no services. The family asks that when you come to the 19th hole, have a toast to Bob.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Pass Christian, is serving the family of Mr. Emry.
