John Prine, Sr.

John William Prine, Sr., age 90, of Biloxi passed away Monday, November 28, 2022.

John was a native of Texas and a resident of Biloxi. He was a self-employed sheetrock hanger who enjoyed camping, fishing, raising rabbits and crickets. He also enjoyed selling his oranges.  John was a member of Saucier Holiness Church.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Prine; his parents, John Burr and Rose Prine; a son, Joseph James Prine, Sr.; and three sisters, Dela Mae Sylvester, Lucille Whitsitt, and Frances Patterson.

John was survived by four children, John Prine, Jr. (Kathy), Nancy Wood (Eugene), Patsy Shelton, and Betty Lou Mastrapa; three siblings Lee Bell White, James Prine, and Myrine Nichols; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:00 am, with a visitation for friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Free Church of God Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the hospice nurses who took care of Mr. Prine.
