John Clifton Menasco, age 75, died on May 31, 2021 after a short illness. John was born on March 23, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama. He was the son of Bessie B Cox Menasco and John Dan Menasco. He graduated from Theodore High School in 1963.
John serviced in the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam war and afterward worked on offshore drilling rigs. He also worked at the shipyard in Pascagoula, MS, as a welder. He finished his career at Gulf Airgas in Theodore, AL. After retiring John moved to Pass Christian, MS, to be closer to his family.
John is survived by a brother, William "Buck" Menasco of Pass Christian, MS. and a sister, Lula Faye Menasco Weaver of Pamplico, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Barbara Menasco McLeod of Bay Minette, AL, and a sister-in-law Nora Kelly Menasco of Pass Christian, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
The graveside service will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 1pm. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian is serving the family.
