John D. """"J.D."""" Ladner, age 64, of Kiln, MS was called home to the Lord on September 3, 2009.
He was preceeded in death by his father, Joseph Nean Ladner; Brother-In-Law, J. D. Dedeaux; father-in-law, Earon Ladner; and one brother, Bobby Ladner.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lillie Ladner; his mother, Christine Ladner; mother-in-law, Merlena Necaise; son, John Douglas Ladner and wife Velma of Kiln; son, Frankie Ladner of Kiln; son, David Ladner and wife Olivia of Saucier; daughter, Brenda Ladner Jarrett of Gulfport; and he also shared in raising two grandchildren as his own children, Tiffany (Kent) Cuevas and Scott Ladner; seven other grandchildren, Ronnie Ladner, River Johnson, Frankie Ladner Jr., Seth Ladner, Brendalyn Ladner, Aaeden Ladner and Jakob Jarrett; great grandchildren, Braydon Cuevas and Kallie Cuevas; Sisters, Ethel Dedeaux of Perkinston, Mary Ella (George) Green of Shoreline, and Bettey Green of Kiln; Brother, Wesley (Marie) Ladner of Kiln and another he always called his brother, Bennie (Sharon) Necaise.; Brothers-in-law, Terry (Dottie) Ladner of Saucier, Donald Ray (Cindy) Ladner of Long Beach, and Paul Earon Ladner of Biloxi; Sisters-in-law, Margie Stapleton of Pass Christian and Dyrene (Donnie) Owens of Gulfport. He also is survived by those he considered his own grandchildren, Velma (Danny) Odom of Poplarville, Dennis and George Mobley, both of Kiln; great-grandchildren, Desmon, Racinda and Kendra Odom all of Poplarville; a step-brother, Kenneth Mayfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
J.D. was a lifelong resident of Kiln and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. He retired after 37 years with the Deviney Construction Company as a diesel mechanic. He loved spending time with his grandbabies and never left his home without his wife by his side. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Friends may visit the Ladner family at the family residence, 2074 Christine Ladner Road, Kiln, beginning at 12 Noon on Sunday, September 6, 2009. The family will leave in procession at 2:40 p.m. Monday, September 7 for the Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart, celebrated by Fr. Michael O'Connor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Rotten Bayou. Pallbearers will be Gerald Ladner, Barney Dedeaux, Kent Cuevas, Jerrell Necaise, Lamar Frederick, Charles 'Bud' Jarrett, Floyd Stapleton and Thomas Mobley.
