John Knight

John Edgar Knight, Sr., age 91 and a resident of Long Beach, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, in Gulfport. He was born on November 21, 1918.
He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. He retired in 1986, from Memorial Hospital of Gulfport as a Lab Technician. He was a long standing member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. John will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Dubuisson Knight.
He is survived by his six children, Deborah Boyter, Charlotte Cox (Michael), Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Lebovitz (Joe), Vicki Denton (Joe), John Knight, Jr. (Jeaneen), and Edmund Knight (Kelly); 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 6pm-8pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 11am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church, Rebuilding Fund in memory of John E. Knight, Sr., P.O. Box 1529, Long Beach, MS 39560.
